Raised in Rolling Fork, she understands the heart of the city and its people. Her experiences living in other small towns throughout the Mississippi Delta before returning home have given her a broader perspective on both the challenges and opportunities facing rural communities. That perspective fuels her dedication to helping Rolling Fork grow while preserving the character that makes it special.
Alderwoman Whiteside holds a bachelor’s degree in education with an emphasis on

literacy and has completed master’s-level coursework in community development and diversity. She served as a classroom teacher, academic advisor, school certifying official for veterans’ education benefits. instructional and academic coach, and held numerous roles on curriculum and development teams—experiences that shaped her ability to lead, collaborate, and drive meaningful outcomes. Her academic and professional background informs her approach to leadership—focused on inclusivity, thoughtful planning, and long-term sustainability.
As an entrepreneur and business owner, she brings practical insight into fiscal responsibility and economic growth. She is a strong advocate for accountability in government and believes leaders should always act in the best interest of the people they serve. Known for asking tough questions and standing firm in her convictions, she is committed to ensuring that city decisions are made with transparency and integrity.
Alderwoman Whiteside is especially passionate about rebuilding and maintaining trust between local government and citizens through open communication and meaningful engagement.
