Refuse Rates

Solid Waste Collection Fees and Container Service

The City of Rolling Fork establishes the following fees to help defray the costs of creating, operating, and maintaining the City’s garbage collection and disposal system.

Residential (Two Pickups Per Week)

A fee is assessed to each single-family residential generator of garbage, and to each household in a building containing three (3) apartments or fewer, for garbage pickup two (2) times per week. Each eligible household may request one (1) additional container for an additional charge.

  • One Container: $35.00 (Green Container)

  • Additional Container: $27.50 (Brown Container; maximum of one additional)

 

Small Commercial – Non-Downtown District (Four Pickups Per Week)

A fee is assessed to each small commercial establishment for garbage pickup four (4) times per week. A maximum of four (4) containers may be provided, with additional containers subject to an additional charge.

  • One Container: $35.00 (Green Container)

  • Additional Containers: $27.50 each (Brown Container; maximum of three additional)

 

Small Commercial – Downtown District Only (Four Pickups Per Week)

A fee is assessed to each downtown small commercial establishment for garbage pickup four (4) times per week.

  • One Container: $40.15 (Red Container)

  • Additional Containers: $40.15 each (Red Container; maximum of three additional)

 

Large Commercial or Industrial

Large commercial or industrial establishments are not assessed City solid waste collection charges if they maintain a dumpster/refuse container and have a contract with a private waste hauler. The City does not provide collection service to large commercial or industrial users; proof of a current waste-hauler contract may be required.

Definitions

  • Small commercial establishment means any public or private place, building, and/or enterprise devoted in whole or in part to a commercial enterprise, whether nonprofit or for-profit, except where the place, building, and/or enterprise constitutes a single-family residence.

 

** Downtown small commercial establishment means any public or private place, building, and/or enterprise devoted in whole or in part to a commercial enterprise, whether nonprofit or for-profit, located within the City’s Downtown District (as defined by ordinance), except where such place, building, and/or enterprise constitutes a single-family residence or multifamily dwelling units (four (4) apartments or more under common ownership).
