Mosquito Control

The City of Rolling Fork’s Mosquito Control program is dedicated to reducing mosquito populations within the city limits to help protect public health and improve quality of life. Public safety is the top priority. The City uses a combination of surveillance, adult mosquito control (adulticide), and larval control (larvicide) as core strategies to manage mosquito activity.

Mosquito spraying typically operates as a seasonal program, generally beginning in the spring and ending in the fall, with exact start and end dates determined by weather conditions and mosquito activity. When spraying is underway, City crews run mosquito-control routes on a regular schedule, weather permitting. Equipment and routing practices are designed to support consistent coverage and responsible application.
